Teatinos Malaga Area Guide

Teatinos is one of the most popular Malaga districts for young professionals and families. With excellent transport links to Malaga city centre and the Tech Park, commuting is easy without the stress of trying to park.
Living in Teatinos places you right at the epicentre of Malaga’s academic hub. This neighbourhood has a distinct lifestyle, characterised by its university campus, numerous study centres, and libraries. Additionally, Teatinos is dotted with sports facilities, parks, and green spaces, perfect for those who relish an active way of life.
Renowned for its nightlife, Teatinos features an array of bars, clubs, and restaurants tailored to its student community.

Community

The Teatinos district has grown in the last 15 years with the advent of Malaga has a serious hub for tech, tourism and finance. Whilst it is still Spanish at heart, there is an increasing number of expats from across the globe making their home there.
The social vibe in Teatinos is young and vibrant, with everything you need on a day-to-day basis on the doorstep.

Location

Teatinos is north-west of Malaga city centre, ideally situated for the university, Andalucia Tech Park, airport, Malaga centre and the motorways.
Timings are by car:
Malaga airport: 8km, 10 minutes
Malaga train and bus stations: 4km, 10 minutes
Beach: Closest beach is in Malaga centre.

Health

Teatinos Malaga has several doctor’s surgeries, both public and private, and numerous pharmacies, including 24-hour.
The nearest hospital is less than 2km away, with further hospitals in the city centre.

Shopping

Teatinos has all the necessary shops for day-to-day living with numerous supermarkets, grocers, stationers and bookshops.
For high street shopping, and a vast array of florists, boutique clothes stores and vintage shops, head to Malaga centre.
Plaza Mayor is a commercial centre with top brands, food court and cinema. Next to it is IKEA and other furniture shops, plus the designer outlet centre McArthurGlen. These are only 12km from Teatinos by car.

Public Transport

Teatinos is connected to Malaga city centre by bus and Metro, which take around 30 minutes. They run frequently, so there’s no need to hang around.
There are six Metro stops on Line 1 in Teatinos covering the whole area.
The Tech Park is also connected via bus which takes around 50 minutes depending on your exact stop.

Sports Facilities

Teatinos has lots of leisure and sports offerings. The university campus has sports facilities as well as there being numerous gyms, yoga and fitness centres across the district. Padel, tennis and swimming pools are also available.
Hiking in the Montes de Malaga is close by, as are water sports from Malaga’s beaches.

Annual Events

Teatinos celebrates Easter, Christmas and has its own feria as all towns and villages in Andalucia.
The big event is in Malaga Centre which hold its feria in August every year.
