Periana
Periana : Periana is located in the Axarquia in the province of Malaga, a village that offers a magnificent mountainous panorama over other villages, the lake of La Viñuela and fields of olive trees.
Community: It has a population of approximately 3,500 residents. According to Junta de Andalusia statistics, in 2021, 11 per cent of Periana’s population were non-Spanish. Of this percentage, 29.6 per cent were British.
Location : Located in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It belongs to the Axarquia. The municipality is situated approximately 23 kilometers from Velez and 48 from the provincial capital of Malaga near the Sierra de Alhama.

Transport: Daily buses to nearby towns and Malaga Capital.
Sports facilities : Periana has a fully equipped gym in the town center,t he gym is open in the mornings 9 – 11 and evenings 18 – 22.
Annual events : A Peach Fair is held in Periana every summer at the end of August, one of a series of fiestas and festivals held throughout Axarquia.
